Hand-Brushed Dao De Jing Scroll
Ink on xuan paper, mounted on silk brocade
$168.00Made to order
The opening chapter of the Dao De Jing is brushed in running script on xuan paper, then mounted with a silk brocade border and a wooden roller at each end. A calligrapher working in the studio writes each scroll to order, so the spacing, ink density and brush rhythm differ slightly from one piece to the next. The finished scroll is signed and sealed, and arrives rolled in a cloth sleeve with a short note on hanging and storage. A short colophon names the calligrapher and the date of writing.
