Zhuangzi, The Inner Chapters
Seven chapters with classical commentaries and reading notes
$38.00In stock
The seven Inner Chapters are presented in a study edition that keeps the classical commentaries in view rather than banishing them to an appendix. Each chapter opens with a note on its argument and place in the text, while marginal annotations explain the puns, place names and dialect words that plain translations often drop. A closing essay follows the textual history of the received edition, and an index of names helps readers keep the crowded cast of characters straight. The book is sewn in signatures and bound in cloth.
